Washington’s workers and families need family and medical leave insurance. Please speak up for me and ask your House leaders to allow the Washington Family and Medical Leave Act (HB 1273) to move. It deserves a chance to be heard in the House Appropriations Committee and considered by the full legislature. We all need access to long-term leave at some point — whether to nurture a new child, fight cancer, care for an aging parent. But too many Washington workers don't have that option. Forced to return to work too soon, they sacrifice health and family well-being to pay their bills. Every baby deserves to have the best start in life. Every elder deserves the care of family during their last weeks. It should never be a matter of luck whether someone can afford a few weeks off when their family needs them most. Please prioritize family and medical leave insurance. Please speak up for me and ask your House leaders to allow HB 1273 to move.
